Marilyn Manson on HBO: Don’t Touch the Crocodiles | Television – The My News
There is a picture that embarrasses me. A perfect document of immeasurable human stupidity. In it I pose with a goofy smile while petting a crocodile in front of a “don’t touch the alligator” sign,, I remembered her while watching the HBO Max documentary reborn from the ashes, In which Evan Rachel Wood, The Divine Dolores Abernathy of the Tired done byDescribes the abuses to which she was subjected to by Marilyn Manson.
Knowing the musician’s trajectory, it’s tempting to fall into blaming his victims. There are some. How would they have blamed me for ending up in the crocodile’s gut? Wonder what brought him into the arms of a man whose stage name pays tribute to a psychopath. Apologizing for the violence, which is depicted in the documentary from 20 years ago that he tortured a fan on set to change his rictus without torturing a fan.
That data hides the answer. For more than 20 years, Manson has been treated like a god by many, and God is not denied, Wood insists. Though in several moments of the documentary, he seems like more than a god, a masturbating teen who has seen multiple kitty lounge,
One has to wonder why we are so generous to the violent. On Monday we went from being disappointed in an attack, to applause for the attacker. Go ahead, nothing happened. Like when Kanye West, drunk and angry, crashed Taylor Swift’s party with no consequence. There are none in any area. There have been aggressive outbursts from jerks like Kyrgios or Djokovic. “Bad Boys” they call them, “Terrible Kids”, Flashy labels to cover up dangerous behaviors that we blind to the presumed genius of those who perpetrate them. We hugged them with goofy smiles instead of pushing them away. Another example of unfathomable human stupidity.
