If enabled, the Advanced Safe Browsing feature will proactively warn users when a web page is dangerous, with settings that use Google’s Safe Browsing feature. Chrome will also warn if the username and login entered in the browser have been compromised in a third-party data breach.

Enhanced Safe Browsing has been available on desktop and Android for some time now, but it’s set to expand to iOS with the next Chrome update as well.

With Enhanced Secure Browsing, Chrome can also be set up as an autofill provider, login and password filling on iPhone and iPad in addition to desktop.

An interface tweak will allow users to search for new content or start a new search in Chrome when the app hasn’t been used for a while. Recent tabs will still be available, but Google wants to make it easier for users to navigate content or return to visited sites more quickly.

Chrome Actions on iOS will allow iPhone and iPad users to type an action in the address bar, such as clear browsing data, open an incognito tab, or set Chrome as the default browser, with on-device machine learning now Available for translation. Fast websites in your language.

Google says these features will come in the next version and that “even more innovations” are coming to the iOS Chrome app. The Chrome app for iPhone and iPad can be downloaded for free from the App Store. [Direct Link]
