Just a day before WWDC 2022, Apple’s new Developer Center opened, and developers were able to get a short tour of the first floor.

Located adjacent to the Apple Park campus, Apple describes the Developer Center as “a world-class facility designed for our community to meet, collaborate and learn from our engineers, designers and experts.” The center includes dedicated developer lab areas, pods, information centers, a state-of-the-art studio/theatre, and more.

Specifically, it was revealed that all meeting rooms in the Developer Center are named after macOS releases, such as Panther, Leopard, Tiger, and El Capitan. The studio space is also called Big Sur, with stage and seating.

According to Apple’s schedule, the Developer Center will be open until 6:00 PM PT today, and will be open again from 7:00 AM PT tomorrow morning. Only those who were invited to WWDC 2022 can attend the open houses.

WWDC 2022 will take place online June 6-10, with sessions and other content available for free on Apple’s website and the Apple Developer app. At the keynote, Apple is expected to announce its latest software platforms including iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16, and there’s always the potential for a hardware announcement or two at the event.
