Amazon announced today that it will end support for Cloud Cam Indoor Security CameraWhich was launched in 2017. In an email, Amazon said that customers will no longer be able to use Cloud Cam and all companion apps from December 2, 2022.

According to Amazon’s email, Cloud Cam users will be able to download any video recording until December 2, 2022, at which time all video history will be deleted.

Amazon said it has decided to focus its efforts on other smart home technologies, including its ring You Blinking product lines. Amazon is offering customers who are still actively using the Cloud Cam a complimentary Blink Mini indoor security camera and a one-year Blink Plus subscription plan while customers still actively using the Cloud Cam “Key Edition” Smart Lock that works with the lock you are using will also be eligible. The fourth-generation Echo as an option hub for connecting a compatible smart lock via the Alexa app.

To update: MacRumors Received the following statement from an Amazon spokesperson:

Starting December 2, 2022, customers will no longer be able to use their Amazon Cloud Cam and Amazon Cloud Cam-Key Editions. Those still actively using their Cloud Cam will be eligible for a complimentary Blink Mini and a full year of Blink subscription plans; Those still using the cloud cam-key version will also be eligible for the Echo (4th generation). We will continue to provide our customers with innovative smart home security solutions through Amazon’s Ring and Blink brands.
